Newborn Photography- FAQs

The time to have newborn photography is so special, but your first time can be tricky. We are here to walk you through the bins and outs with our frequently asked questions.

When is the best time to book newborn photography?

We recommend booking newborn photography in your second trimester. This will ensure that we have space on our calendar. We book a limited number of newborns each month to ensure we are able to see this within the ideal newborn photography timeframe.

When does the session take place?

We like to see newborns between 7-21 days after birth. This is the best time to capture a sleeping newborn.

how do I pre-book when I do not know when my baby is going to be born?

We use your due date as your placeholder. Birth and the immediate after care can be unpredictable for both mom and baby. We use the due date as a placeholder until both mom and baby have been released home from the hospital. This allows us to limit the amount of reschedules. We ask that pre-booked parents reach back out once mom and baby have been released home from the hospital. We then send over a list of dates and times within the preferred newborn window of 7-21 days.

What does it cost to book?

We ask our clients pay a $50 non-refundable retainer. This retainer is not an additional fee. It does apply to the overall balance. This is due within 72 hours of the proposal being sent. The proposal will expire and the spot will open up to other prospective clients.

Will I need to bring anything to my session?

You do not need to bring anything to your session other than the items needed to care for baby. We are a fully stocked newborn studio; however, we understand that our clients may have sentimental items they would like to include. These items are welcomed.

can siblings participate?

Yes, siblings are welcomed during the newborn session as long as you have booked a Classic or Premium Collection. Siblings are not included in the Mini Newborn Collection.

It happens. We work with pre-mature newborns just like we work with non-premie little ones. We do ask that parents reach out after birth, and to keep us updated on baby’s progress. Once baby is released, we schedule a little more time for the session and work at baby’s pace.

What happens if my baby is

born early?

What is the turnaround time?

Our turnaround time for photos is 3 weeks from the date of the session.

You can download your images and print them with any printer of your choice. We do urge our clients to stay away from large box stores such as Walmart, Walgreens, Target, CVS, Costco, and Same. We can recommend several outstanding online print options.

How do I receive physical images when collections come with digital downloads?

A digital download is an image you claim via the web. We use a gallery service that allows our clients to download their images to a laptop or tablet. This has helped eliminate the need for a physical third party to handle your images ensuring they are delivered safely and in a timely manner. Each collection comes with a set of digital images. The Mini includes 8. The Classic includes 12. The Premium 20.

What is a digital download?

You. You get to select the final images included in your set, and additional images are always made available for purchase.
